Washers really do eat socks!

I never believed it could happen until it happened to me...my washing machine ate one of Hami's socks!

Last night I put a load of laundry in because I had run out of clothes to wear that didn't have spit up on them. Unfortunately in the middle of the cycle the washer just died. I called maintenance but they had gone home for the night, so I had to wait until this morning for them to come.

When they finally came (after me calling twice) the guy tried to convince me that nothing was wrong because he moved the dial and it suddenly started. I did exactly what he did, but of course it wouldn't start for me! But to make me feel better he said that if anything else happened, give him a call.

I left the washer and after playing with Hami for a few hours remembered that I needed to change it over. To my surprise the washer was still full of water and had stopped in the middle of the cycle again! I called maintenance again and when they came out he just moved the dial again and got it to start. I assured him that I tried everything to get it started, which he didn't believe, until it stopped while he was here. He left again for a meeting (his first visit was at 10:30 and it's 2 by now) and said he would be back in 45 minutes. Two hours later he returned with two other guys. They pulled the entire washer out (it's a stackable) and figured it out it was the pump that was broken. And what did they find clogged in the pump?

This:

Poor Hami, these were cute socks too! Ones that were wiggle proof (like gold around here).

The best part of the day was that one of the guys jumped behind the stackable to plug everything in only to realize that once everything was plugged in he couldn't get out. He then climbed over the top of the washer and barely squeezed through the doorway.

I am glad that maintenance is free when you live in an apartment complex, but honestly, we didn't get the washer fixed until 5:30! It was a whole day affair and half of it, the maintenance guy didn't even think something was wrong!

Oh and by the way, I entered Hami into a modeling contest for Gap today. Hami is guaranteed to win, but when he becomes a finalist I need all of you to vote for him because the public gets to choose who wins. Good Luck! He is such a stud, we aren't worried!

Poor Hami, loosing his wiggle proof sock! Oh, and it's about time one of the Holts went into modeling! (Actually, Hami is the only one who could pull it off...) We will totally vote for the little guy! :)
