I thought that I would just throw in some cute pictures of Hami to start off with. He is such a cute little man! We bought him this bumble suit because it is getting so cold here and Hami only has summer clothes. The sleeves were so thick that he couldn't even move his arms! The other picture is of "Alexander Hamilton Place." This is a street in between the Treasury Department and the White House.

Dallin and I got invited to an Election Night party thrown by the RNC on election day. We left Hami with a babysitter (nerve-wracking) and headed downtown to the Capitol Hilton. It was so much fun (although it would have been more fun if McCain could have pulled it out, but oh well)! We felt so official wearing our "guest passes"!
Here we are inside the party. I couldn't believe how many people were there! They even had a band playing up on stage. Let me tell you, Republicans are conservative until they throw back a few drinks...towards the end of the night the dance floor got pretty hot!
Every where you went there was a tv with people all huddled around watching the results. Every time a poll would close, everyone would stop and look at a screen to watch the tallies roll in. It was pretty exciting until California was announced, that's when everyone just silently started leaving the party!
We were even on tv! The guy dressed in black in the middle of the picture was doing a news broadcast from the party. They did a sweep of the room and we are pretty sure you could see us!
It was such an amazing experience to be at this party. This election is so momentous and I loved being a part of it, even if it was in a small way. It's a shame we couldn't pull it off, but now we have four more years to regroup and have another go at it!

Later that week Elise, Bren, Brenna, and Eli all came to stay with us over the weekend. We had a lot of fun seeing some of the monuments downtown and of course, the zoo! I am so glad that Hami has so many cousins that are so close in age to play with. He had a lot of fun with Brenna and Eli.

Here we are eating our awesome lunch from 7-11 at the zoo. We were all pretty tired by the time we got to the zoo...nothing like cold corndogs to give you energy!
Thanks so much for coming and visiting us guys! We had so much fun hanging out with you! Oh and Elise has much better pictures of the trip on her blog so if you want to see more, check hers out!
Last Sunday we gave Hami his first solids (if you can count rice cereal as a solid)! He actually took the food really well and didn't even spit up! For any of you who haven't been around Hami much, this is a true feat. This kid is like a fountain after he eats, so no spit up was a nice change!
Dallin said that Hami was on the Truman Show...can you see the webcam in front of him? We had my parents hooked up on Skype watching the whole thing. Technology is crazy these days! I know that I am just a sappy mom, but I can't believe Hami is already starting solids! He is getting so big!

I am so proud of little Hami. He ate his food without spitting up. That is not the way we all remember it here, but we will not try to alter your perception of history!!! ;-)
Pretty cool with the whole party thing. You and Dallin will com back to Utah and experience a lack of culture shock! It will be fun to see you...
Hi you guys, I found your blog from the comment you left on Elise's blog. Your little family is so cute. I can't believe how big Hami has gotten.
What a cute little solid food eater...Hami, not Dallin ;)
That's so cool about the election party...I didn't know you guys got in on that. Awesome.
