I am trying to be good like my mom and take pictures of Hami at 3, 6, 9, 12, 18 months and then every year after that. We managed to get pictures of him when he was 2 weeks old (NEVER go to JCPenney's to get pictures taken) and some turned out really well, but others... let's just say Hami was 2 weeks old and the lady was trying to have him kneel behind a block!
A few weeks ago (when he just turned 3 months) I drove up to Target to get his pictures taken again. I get coupons in the mail which send me to these awful places like Target and JCPenney's to get pictures. I can't stress enough, NEVER get pictures taken at these places, they are awful! I showed up at Target and some teeny-bopper wanted to take pictures of Hami. I asked for Fall leaves, pumpkins, etc to be in the picture. At first she couldn't find anything (even though she told me on the phone that they had plenty of items) and then she couldn't find the cover for their boxes and bases. She wanted me to hold Hami up and cover my arm with a branch! A branch! Like no one would notice there is a huge branch growing out of Hami's back and going straight off to the side! After about two shots (which took 15 minutes) the phone rang and she was gone talking on the phone, for another 15 minutes. During this time I packed Hami up and left. She tracked me down and asked if I wanted to see all of the pictures she took. All two of them were awesome, Hami was crying and my arm, er-uh branch, was sticking straight out. No thanks!
I then resolved to take Hami's pictures by myself. I went to All-A-Dollar and bought Fall leaves and pumpkins and away we went. It only took me a couple more weeks (Hami will turn 4 months in a few days) to get the pictures but here are some of the good ones. We are going to take some more tomorrow. Hami spit up all over his overalls and we had to do a wardrobe change, so I will wash it tonight and try again tomorrow! I am no photographer, nor do I want to be, but I think some of these actually turned out pretty well!

oh my goodness!!! What a sweet little guy! You are quite the photographer Callie, good job! Next time i want to go get my glamor shots taken, i will take your suggestions to heart! Yah, that was totally ridiculous when we went to JC Penny's! Poor little Hammilton, even if he was awake, there's no way he could of suported himself on his knees! Bless his heart.... :)
Great job! I have always taken my kids pics or had a talented friend take them. I hate the posed studio shots too. Hami is so cute.

He is darling Callie. Good job on the photos. I agree with you on the whole studio thing...everyone always ends up crying in our family when we go there. I can't beleive how grown up hami is an I have not even seen him yet!!! who does that? Give him a big snuggle for me would ya? hope things are good for ya'll. Loveage
